Marine Ramps

Janox has designed, manufactured, installed, and commissioned dozens of marine ramps. Many of these ramps serve the public travelling with BC Ferries and Washington State Ferries. Even the relatively small Seabus passenger loading ramps, which form part of the public transit system between North Vancouver and downtown Vancouver, were built by Janox. We have also built many industrial barge ramps used in major construction projects throughout the province, or used for commercial transport of goods to island communities along the coast of BC.

Many larger systems are “active-lift”, capable of real-time adjustments while traffic is flowing over the ramp. These systems incorporate position transducers, proportional valves, and sophisticated PLC controls. QA requirements for these projects, and the lift cylinders in particular, are extremely critical as failure could result in significant loss of life.
