Powering Connections, Sharing Expertise: Janox at POWC 2026
From May 6–8, 2026, the Janox team attended the Power of Water Canada Technical Conference and Trade Show (POWC) in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. Hosted by the Ontario Waterpower Association, POWC is Canada’s largest gathering of the hydroelectric industry, bringing together utilities, equipment manufacturers, service providers, industry experts and other key stakeholders.
This year marked the largest attendance in the conference’s 26-year history, welcoming more than 500 delegates and 85 exhibitors. With Ontario entering a new period of investment in hydroelectric generation, discussions throughout the event focused on modernizing existing assets, developing new capacity, building strong industry partnerships and supporting the province’s growing electricity needs.
Our Focus
For Janox, POWC 2026 was an opportunity to strengthen our presence in Ontario and better understand the needs of hydroelectric operators outside our traditional Western Canadian market.
Our team focused on meeting facility owners and decision-makers, learning about upcoming modernization projects and exploring where Janox’s hydraulic engineering, field service and maintenance expertise can provide value. Conversations highlighted opportunities related to aging equipment, hydraulic system upgrades, governors and servo systems, intake equipment, oil management and specialized field support.
The conference also provided an important lesson: hydropower needs vary significantly by region. Understanding the differences between Eastern and Western Canadian facilities will help us better tailor our solutions, partnerships and technical expertise as Janox continues to expand across Canada.
Making an Impact
POWC 2026 was a standout event for Janox. Beyond building valuable relationships across Ontario’s hydroelectric sector, our team actively contributed to the technical conversation.
A key highlight was Don Marcellus leading the workshop “Hydraulic System Operation and Maintenance in Hydroelectric Powerplants,” sharing Janox’s hands-on expertise with industry professionals.
From meaningful conversations on the trade show floor to technical knowledge-sharing, our participation strengthened Janox’s presence in the Canadian hydropower industry and opened the door to exciting new opportunities.
A strong event, valuable connections, and another step forward for Janox in Canadian hydropower.
